White noise and fan sounds that play offline
Fan Noise works offline. Its nine fans and white and brown noise are part of the app, so they play with no signal and in airplane mode: on a plane, in a cabin, anywhere. The sleep timer and night mode work offline too. Plus sounds download the first time they play, then play offline.

Before a trip
- The fans and white and brown noise need nothing: they’re already in the app.
- Using Plus sounds? Play each one you want once while you’re online, and it’s kept for the trip.
- On a plane, put your phone in airplane mode and use headphones. The sound plays the same.
- Set the sleep timer as you would at home.
A fan that fits in your pocket
A real fan is hard to pack. Fan Noise is the sound of nine fans on the phone you already carry, for a hotel room, a tent or a sleeper train, with or without a signal. Start with the box fan.
Plus sounds, offline
Fan Noise Plus adds 46 more sleep sounds, the mixer, saved mixes and no ads, from rain on a tent to an airplane cabin. Each Plus sound downloads the first time it plays, then is kept for nights without a signal.
All night, anywhere
Lock your phone and the fan plays on with the screen off, and the sleep timer stops it on time, signal or not. Everything else is on the Fan Noise home page.
Questions, answered.
- Is there a white noise app that works offline?

- Can I use it on a plane?
- Yes. Put your phone in airplane mode and the fans and white and brown noise keep playing, with the screen off if you like. Plus sounds you’ve played once play offline too.
- Do Plus sounds work offline?
- Yes, once downloaded. Each Plus sound downloads the first time it plays, then plays offline.
- Which sounds play offline for free?
- The nine fans (Box Fan, Table Fan, Desk Fan, Modern Fan, Stand Fan, Ceiling Fan, Vintage Fan, Mechanical Fan and Server Room) and white and brown noise. They’re free, with ads.
