Common questions
Your account
- Do I need to sign up?
- No. Fan Noise makes an account for you the first time you open it. Save it with Apple, Google or an email address in Settings › Save your account, so your purchases and settings follow you if you lose or change your device.
- How do I move to a new device?
- Save your account on your old device first. Then open Fan Noise on the new one and sign in with the same Apple, Google or email account: your purchases and settings come with you.
- What happens to an account I never saved?
- It lives only on the device that made it. If nobody opens it for 90 days, it is deleted with everything in it, unless it has an active Plus subscription.
- How do I get a copy of my data?
- Open Settings › Download my data. You get one file with everything we keep for your account.
- How do I delete my account?
- Open Settings › Account › Delete account (Settings › Save your account › Delete account if you never saved your account). If you can’t open the app, email us and we’ll do it for you. All the details.
Fan Noise Plus
- What does Plus include, and what does it cost?
- Plus adds 46 more sleep sounds, the mixer, saved mixes and no ads. The app shows the price in your country before you buy. Apple or Google bills it, and confirms the price with you first.
- How do I get Plus back on a new device?
- Sign in to the same Fan Noise account you bought it on, then tap Settings › Subscription › Restore. Use the same Apple ID or Google account you paid with.
- How do I cancel Plus?
- In your App Store or Google Play subscriptions (Settings › Subscription › Manage subscription takes you there). You keep Plus until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app or your account doesn’t cancel it.
- Can I get a refund?
- Apple and Google handle refunds for purchases made through them, under their own policies. On iPhone, ask at reportaproblem.apple.com; on Android, in Google Play’s order history.
Sounds and ads
- Does the fan keep playing with the screen off?
- Yes. Lock your device and the fan plays on. Its controls are on your lock screen and, on Android, in its notification.
- How does the sleep timer work?
- Choose how long the fan should play. When the time is up, it fades out instead of stopping all at once.
- Why are there ads, and what choices do I have?
- Ads help keep Fan Noise free to download. Where the law gives you a choice about how ads use your information, the app asks you first, and you can change your answer in Settings › Ad privacy choices. How ads use your information.
